In light of the death of Vicky Flores in Discovery Bay just organized a support group that will conduct activities to show support for her family and covering for costs of memorial service. It is heartwarming to see a group of responsible residents who organized such group and for the likes Mike Poole who took time to publish what's going on in the web. Please visit their blog at http://adeathinhongkong.wordpress.com/ I have been following the news via South China Morning Post (currently the third most popular article) but alas, the details seem inaccurate when I compared two previous news articles (at least the spelling of names and age of victim). Her alleged boarding of a bus in Tung Chung (located nearby Discovery Bay) was suspicious as pointed out by the blog. I wish other communities in Hong Kong would be as responsive and proactive as this Discovery Bay group. I am sure many are already doing a good job of looking after the welfare of certain unfortunate members of the community (for example Tin Shui Wai). Again, please visit http://adeathinhongkong.wordpress.com and if you're willing to extend help through online signature, you can do so by clicking here.
