Job search through web, walk-ins (by reading the papers) and referrals are the most common ways to search a job. There is one thing common to the three methods above. Reach. Web is not easily available and it has a learning curve, referrals are not easy to come by for the rural youth and walk-ins might not be available on the day you have read the newspaper. There is only one media which can reach the unemployed. That is the phone. It could be your regular PCO(these are fast becoming extinct) or your mobile phone which is so ubiquitous. Pick up the phone and call me, that’s what the company says. This method is for unemployed who live rurally. For a country like India innovations like these will help a lot. Urban India has already arrived. It is the time for the rural India to get onboard. Mobile (oops phone) is the medium for that.
