Blackberry Storm to storm India this year

Though apple is a loser in India, it is the ultimate winner. It has triggered a touch screen phone war and every other phone coming out is a touch screen. The benchmark everybody is competing for is Apple’s iPhone. Skimming strategy or poor marketing iPhone did not work in India. May be that’s a good thing in disguise for Indian consumers. Other phone makers have looked at the void and consumer’s appetite for touch screen phones and jumped in. I did not expect RIM to come up with a touch screen Blackberry but they did. This is a good indication of things to come. Every other phone to hit the market will be touch screen. People can feel things.

Canada based Research in Motion is the makers of Blackberry. It already has a strong foothold in the executive market and its email features are stunning. What happens when the leading email phone maker joins the touch screen war? You get a stunning new product called Blackberry Storm. Appropriately named I am expecting this new phone to be a real storm. As far as looks goes it is much better than the iPhone. You want some proof. Head over to the blackberry website. While you are there check out the bizarre ad campaign by Vodafone.

There was a camera phone war just 3 – 4 months back. Camera and FM are the standards for any phone available in the market. You cannot find a phone without a camera in the market right now. Would the same be happening for the touch screens too?

I am not sure how many phones will be released in the touch screen arena in the future. Let me just list the phones released so far.
·    IPhone
·    Samsung Innov8
·    HTC Diamond
·    Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
·    Samsung Omnia

Too sad it is being released for Vodafone only. I am a Airtel subscriber and has no intention of changing to Vodafone. Too sad Blackberry Storm is not available on Airtel. I am expecting them to release it for Airtel too.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this beauty.
