Its finally here. Why did Google take this long for their most awaited service? I don’t like email as much as I like my feedreader. May be because I don’t get too many emails, which make me feel unimportant. My RSS reader never disappoints me. It will throw me information all the time. Google alerts is one of that service which I use and heavily rely upon for my blogging juices to flow. I was really disappointed with Google for not releasing this service sooner. It is so damn easy and everyone else is doing it. Besides, Google has a RSS reader in Google reader. If you search for a news item using Google’s news service, there is a feature for you get notified for any future updates on the news item. This can be done via email until now. Now you can add it your feed reader. How is this useful? Let us say you want to stay informed about Infosys. You can set up an alert for Infosys and get the information via email or RSS feed. The alerts will keep you touch on what is happening on the web including blogs, groups, video and news. That is the best way of staying in touch with what matters to you the most. It will also keeps the focus and cuts the crap out of your daily information dose. So what took you so long Google? I would be interested in your answer but I am too busy converting my alerts to RSS feeds.
