By 2020, Bharti wants to be the finest Indian conglomerate. I don’t doubt it. Bharti should be one of the upcoming conglomerates to watch for in the next 10 years. It has started diversifying its interests into finance and retail sector. Unlike telecom though, Bharti will not have first mover advantage. It has to remain innovative to succeed an gain a good market share in the sectors like finance and retail. Bharti is not that big brand when compared to Airtel. It would be interesting to see how they deal with the brand transition to Bharti for other businesses.
