These are not the most valuable companies but the most trusted companies in India. These companies can be valuable too, but that is not everybody is looking for. Along with other factors the fund managers will be looking at the corporate governance factors very closely.

The guidance and buy/sell calls will be issued based on this. Mint has conducted a snap poll of fund mangers, stock brokers and market analyst and these are the companies that came up on the radar. Few of your favorite companies are missing from the list.

Here is the list :

  1. Infosys
  2. Tata Communications Ltd
  3. Tata Consultancy Services
  4. Tata Motors Ltd
  5. Tata Power Company Ltd
  6. Tata Steel Ltd
  7. HDFC Ltd
  8. HDFC Bank

There are very few surprises in the list. Infosys is number one. This also reminds me of the comments made by the Infosys management about the Satyam episode. For which the confidence obviously comes from their own management. This survey just ratifies that confidence.

Narayana Murthy talked about respectability for the company. Referring to the billionaire’s list he mentioned a list for ‘the most respectable CEO’s’. Though the process will be very subjective it is high time someone does that.

Read my reservations about the list and also the exclusion of any Reliance company from the list.

I still have 3 questions for you :

  1. Are these the most trusted companies in India?
  2. Which company do you trust the most?
  3. Would you buy Infosys stock now?

Gosh! I finally came up with a non-Satyam post.
