Where was a T-Shirt born? You might answer it as China but it was born in the United States. Lubbock, Texas called as the cotton country is the hub for cotton production and T-shirts. United States stood first in cotton production which was later overtook by China.
T-Shirt traveled many countries since then and is the best example of globalization. Now, T-Shirt production has shifted from US to countries where its T-shirt traveled many places and took many colors. Now, it has took another shape. You can actually design your own T-Shirt get it printed and wear it. All this is done by India’s very own T-shirt company - Inkfruit. Inkfruit is an online international community of graphic designers who submit their designs for the T-shirt. Selected designs will be printed on the T-shirt and put up for sale on their website. You can design and buy your own Tee or check out the existing designs. Inkfruit’s website follows the regular social media things like voting and commenting a particular design. I have argued that startups are a better bet in recession. Inkfruit is an example for that. It was the finalist of the proto-in startup event along with 12 other startups. More importantly it was able to hire talent from IIM’s because of the recession. Inkfruit recently announced an affiliate program, where blogger’s can keep Inkfruit ‘stores’ on their sites or blogs. For all sales from this store revenue is earned by the blogger. There is competition from other providers like Pringoo and Myntra but Inkfruit is a pure T-shirt player. The printing technique used by Inkfruit allows designers to use multiple effects and explore their creativity without constraints of plastic sticker prints Check out Inkfruit, their collection, design your stuff, buy it and wear it.
