A.S., Murthy, new, CEO, Satyam

For all the rumors and 50 + applications for the post of CEO of Satyam, the new board appointed A.S. Murthy as the new CEO of Satyam. Murthy is a Satyam executive worked as the head of delivery team. He was with Satyam for the past 15 years.

Not sure if this is a good move, but given the things the board has done so far, it has to be a good move. The board has also secured a 6 billion rupees of funding for capital requirements.

There were a lot of speculations about who the CEO would be. Vivek Paul, Phaneesh Murthy, Raman Roy and lot of other names were in the fray. Thank god for putting and end to this.

The board and the government was specific when it made the statements. They were looking for someone who knew Satyam well. Now, how well Murthy knows the financial gymnastics of Raju and Srinivas would be something we have to wait and watch.

May be Murthy can get lucky with the name which closely resembles to that of the other famous Murthy - Narayana Murthy. May be his fame will rub off on this Murthy. We just have to wait and see.
