Looks like we found our iPhone beater after all. Ever since the iPhone was launched any new smartphone is either compared with iPhone are declared as the iPhone beater.
Many did not even come close. iPhone’s cool factor is not replaceable in spite of its many flaws. But, one phone stood the test and actually won it. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has sold 13 million phones already. Apple sold 17 million iPhones so far. Really? That less. Aah! Apple for all the hype you sold just 4 million more The hype surrounding iPhone has prompted many apps just for the phone. The same kind of craze is not seen for XpressMusic. With 13 million phones already, I am sure the market is huge for the apps. I hope there will be a rush for Nokia apps. In India, iPhone is a flop and Nokia is the most preferred brand. XpressMusic with this touch screen is considered as a middle-class man’s iPhone. Checking at any of the popular sites it is the most popular phone along with Blackberry Storm and Nokia E71. iPhone is priced at 31000 and 5800 XpressMusic is priced at sub-20K (between 18000 - 20000 rupees). My research says that phones priced in the sub-20K range are sold more. When Nokia decides to get into the touch screen market and gets it right with one of its first products then we know that we are in an era of touch screen phones. Is it time to get a 5800?
