Airtel is a pioneer in more ways than one. Be its audacious acquisition and merger plans or the mega outsourcing deals to simplify operations. Most of the telecom players look out for Airtel as a leader.
It is Airtel’s $750 million outsourcing deal with IBM which changed the landscape of Indian telecom. It changed the way they work. Now, even the new players In the light of this it becomes important to look at the outsourcing deals in the order of the magnitude which has punctuated Indian Telecom story. Top 6 outsourcing deals in Indian Telecom :
Of the 6 outsourcing deals it is IBM leads the pack with $4.5 billion deals between 3 operators. Its closest rival is Wipro which has $1.1 billion. TCS has a $250 million deal which again comes from its sister concern of Tata Teleservices. (Source) These deals will only become more frequent and will become even bigger.
