And possibly the rising health risk. If tennis elbow is something which is heard around sportspersons, cellphone elbow is something which anybody can get. In fact more than a billion people in this world are at risk. 400 million people in India alone are at risk.

Medically known as cubital tunnel syndrome, cell phone elbow is numbness, tingling and pain in the forearm and hand caused by compression of the ulnar nerve, which passes along the bony bump on the inside of the elbow. (Health24 via jkOntheRun)

CellPhone-2

Unlike Tennis elbow which can be incurred by playing cricket, Cell Phone elbow is incurred by talking more on the cell phone. A little straightforward to our liking. Simply put, if you speak too much on the phone without any headphones you will get it.

There is already an existing condition of Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) which can be incurred by too much of Texting. Nintendo thumb and Guitar Hero wrist or other popular health risks arising out of popular activities.

I don’t speak much on my cell phone except for my work calls. I use the headphones to a little success as they suck. Not sure if I should use Bluetooth. But you never know if there is a Bluetooth elbow or a Bluetooth ear which might as well be deaf ear.
