A Maxis insider emailed Screenshots to complain that "Maxis has deprived Indians (Malaysians) from celebrating Malaysia 50th Merdeka" -- there is no Tamil Code for the free download of “Our Children, Our Future” songs.
To download True Tunes & Polyphonic: I don't keep track who founded or are running Maxis now, but this is what a Maxis employee exclaimed in despair: "This is really a sad news to all Indians knowing that we are marginalised in this company". The alert to Screenshots had pointed to an internal broadcast among Maxis employees via the Mail Express At Maxis email loop, time-stamped 02:33 PM, August 30, and headlined: "In less than 12 hours, Malaysia is 50 years old." The email was carbon-copied to several senior Maxis personnel in charge of multimedia content, including Allan Khoo Siew Ann, Abigail Wong Sow Peng, Siti Sarah Bt Serpudin, Chew Hock Guan (Collin), Kee Saik Meng; and Ng T'ze-Mae. Those with access to Maxis employees' internal server can view the Maxis Merdeka press ad here; and Maxis TV commercials here. The email blast also stated that, "In addition, there is a variety of Merdeka – themed content downloads for your mobile phone, featuring both fun and patriotic expressions of the people, by the people, for the people." Apparently, some employees are upset because, in contrast to the English, BM and Chinese codes, there wasn't a Tamil Code for free download.
