Confirmation: Facebook Now Thailand's Dominant Social Network
Italian social media blogger Vincenzo Cosenza has updated his near legendary global social networking map with new data. Here is watch Vincenzo wrote back in his last update from December 2009 (as blogged here).
And from the latest post.
This news comes as little surprise to anyone who has kept up with social networking in Thailand, or the recent political protests since the unrest in Bangkok was the trigger for a huge increase in Facebook users in the country, explaining Vincenzo’s results. On a side note, interesting to see Facebook has usurped Friendster as the number one social network in The Philippines. From the full map, as can be found of Vincenzo’s blog, Brazil, Russia and Iran stand out as sizeable markets yet to fall to the Facebook empire, how much longer will this be the case? As for China, that’s a different question, answer and discussion altogether. Image is an edited version of the full global social media map available at vincos.it
