I thought the Othello scam was that Iago was behind the whole thing. Billy Shakespeare figured that one out years ago.

Enh. Go and Othello are very similar as far as I know.
Go originated 2,500 years ago...Othello, 30 years ago...not too similar in my book. Hope you haven't been telling korean students that paduk (go) is othello. Thats almost insulting to an East Asian to put a rather simple like othello on the same level as go (paduk).
Go and Othello are way way different. Othello is quite easy to program to beat a human. Go is, at the moment, very far from a human-beating program (ie. not as good as, say, the chess programs)
