I am disgusted that The Straits Times has been under-praising the hard working folks at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC); surely their strong work ethic and devotion to their job at losing money is worthy of more adoration and adulation from every Singaporean’s favourite newspaper monopoly. Just imagine what will happen if the folks at the GIC did not do anything and just loafed around in the office all day - we will suddenly find ourselves richer by 59 billion dollars. The consequences of this are most dire: we could have drowned while swimming around in the pool of decadent money, emulated the worst excesses of the French Revolution, and became western liberals and puppets of the neo-colonialist imperialists. What a preposterous scenario! Thankfully, such a horrendous situation has been averted under the wise direction of the PAP government. Alerted to the threats of having too much money, the PAP has wisely instructed GIC to rid Singapore of the excess money that has been clogging up the arteries of the rugged Singaporean migrant that has become too rich (and lazy) for his own good. What else did you expect? That we have lost 59 billion out of pure accident? Don’t be silly, the PAP knows everything. Being infallible, how can it have lost 59 billion unless it is by some contrived design too complicated for mere mortals to understand? Make no mistake about this – the PAP government makes no mistake. The virtues of our one-party system needs not be extolled further. We must now resume to look again at the focus of this article - that The Straits Times has failed to praise our GIC enough. The title of the offending title is “GIC loses money on New York project” and some of its shocking contents are as follows:
The Straits Times has not adequately emphasised the most important part of this, which is that the GIC has of course predicted that its bid to lose money will be a success since last year. Did the news of their loss come as a surprise for them? No of course not, everything is under the control of their prescient mind. And The Straits times also failed to emphasis another important point. Observe. GIC was considerate enough not to disclose its successful attempt at losing money until today, despite of being privy to the knowledge since last year. The GIC has done an excellent job at keeping information out of the hands of the Singaporean peasants whom do not understand the understandable need to lose money; the masses are too ignorant to understand the grand plans laid in store for our nation and grasp the larger scale of things. Please, Straits Times reporter, give the GIC credit where it is due.
Of course, the masses must still realise that what has been lost is mere peanuts, and a loss or two here there and there is entirely necessary. The Straits Times should really make it more clear instead of dropping subtle hints between the lines that a loss of 925 m is nothing in the grander scheme of things.
But not to worry, of course, in the long run all the losses will be recovered. Under the omniscient rule of the PAP, as has been stressed many times but never over-emphasised enough by The Straits Times, everything is under control. Go back and sleep tonight, everything is okay. And oh don’t forget to vote for everyone's favourite omnipotent party in the next election!

You dare challenge the rule of the Gods? What do you know you snarky, ignorant plebeians?
Please do not criticise the brains behind GIC. Who are you to find faults. Whatever they do in for you Singaporeans. So please praise them instead of finding faults all thr time. Without them running the show your mothers and sisters will become maids in another country. Now you do not want that, do you? S please kindly shut up and vote wisely.
Our emperor Lee and his FamilLee are the best in the word, that there is no other. Losing untold billions and still happily siting in the throne like nobody business. Even Emperor Qin who build the Great Wall of China, if alive, will admire the Lee dynasty. Great Wall of Sin is much powerful than Great Wall of China. See how the Great Wall created by LKY, comprising of kangaroo laws and judges, conflict of interest, oppressive policy, PayAndPAy legalised robbery, bribery, leegalised corruption of echelons, laundering etc, has helped to entrench PAP into power.
I was just wondering whether all these losses are real losses or slowly being siphoned away in anticipation that there might be a possibility that PAP may not be able to form the next govt after the next General election. One can never really know, isn't it ? Especially when the PM's wife is put in charge of the monies and is still not held accountable when there are so much losses ? What standards of governance are they having ? Myammar ? Remember, if they can appoint so many nominees in charge of those past investments in Thailand without anybody having any clue as who these nominees really are, what is there to prevent them from hiding all these investment funds under the name of investment losses ? Especially when LKY can even mentioned that the army will be shooed in to take over the govt in case there is a freak election, what else are they not capable of doing ? History has shown us that when incumbent govts become insecure, outflow of funds has always been inevitable !
well... they can try to run...continue to run....they can try to hide...continue to hide.... But it is the new gov't job to find all this "lost" funds...it is after all not their money...neither did they earn it thru honest hard living...or even deserve the trust and respect given to them initially and threw it all away just because they think and believe and made themselves a "special" class...what a joke... It is like big ass painted red back side baboon walking around in the plains of afrika showing folks it is an elite because it has a red backside. If they have humility and understand the meaning of humanity...they will have been real people with other real people...instead of stating and using laws to differentiate they are a better class of people... What does elitism breeds....nothing....elitism don't contribute to the progress of the world or to humanity...elitism is an isolation from the real world and real challenges and real issues. So elitism is just a zero with an infinity of zeros behind it. They may hide or run with the money...but the new gov't will definitely find them...after all we are suppose to live in a globalised world and with rules of law to leverage upon to get all these monies back : )
Well, actually I am not too big a fan of conspiracy theories - I don't think that the money lost has actually been siphoned away. I believe in this adage: Do not attribute to conspiracies what can be explained by incompetence. - Norvin
If WSJ did not report it ....GIC would have kept in hidden under the carpet....We have to thankful there are still Independent and moral heroes out there (though I have yet to notice any life heroes in Singapore....the last one Mr Brown was unceremoniously thrown out of the MSM where he worked) I am ashamed of our Political Leaders. |
